News 2008

* 16-17/8 Norrköping Nat KC show & Nyköping Int KC show Casper made his KC debute at these two shows and was BOB puppy both days. Inez only competed at the international show and she was second best bitch with CC and R-CACIB. Harley was BOB both days with a Group-3 and a Group-5. Russin was second best bitch with CC the first day and BOS with CC and CACIB the second day. This was her 12th CC! Pajaz was only entered at the international show and was third best male. Viggo only competed the first day and was fifth best male.


* A late report from the woods ;) July 27 Zäta went field tracking and won first prize in open class.

* 9/8 SvVK Umeå At the Sighthound specialty in Umeå Lotus was BOB with CC completing her Swedish champion title on top of her Finnish one. She was also BIS-5 in the finals!

* 9-10/8 KC shows in Askersund and Ronneby. Harley was fourth best male in Askersund and Viggo was fourth best male in Ronneby.

* 2-3/8 Germany At the Hound Specialty in Donaueshingen Kaleb was BOB both days under judges Christian Jouanchicot and Bitte Ahrens.

* 2/8 Svenstavik Int KC show & Sighthound Club Specialty Harley was BOB and Group-5 at the International show and Inez was BOB with CC and BIS-3 at the Sighthound specialty.


* 2/8 Ireland Slaine won BOB under Mr Geoff Corish.

* 1/8 Vilnius Lithuania Lotus won R-CACIB which will be confirmed as a CACIB as the winner already is an international champion. On Saturday at the Baltic Winner Lotus was third with excellent.

* 27/7 SSUK Ransäter Russin was the only one entered from us and she went third best bitch, BOB junior/intermediate and BIS-1 junior/intermediate!


* 27/7 Bedzin KC show, Poland Nairos was BOB.

* 26/7 European Lure Coursing Championships in Sweden 18 entered Pharaohs. Enya was the best placed Swedish Pharaoh Hound with a 7th place, closely followed by Zäta at 8th place as the best Swedish born Pharaoh Hound! Almost eight year old Nahla finished in 11th place.


* 26/7 Björneborg Int KC show, Finland Great news! In a nice entry of Pharaohs Riemu was BOB with CC and CACIB and finished the day as Group-4! Lotus was BOS with CACIB.

* 26/7 Ransäter KC show Harley was second best male and Russin third best bitch. Not a great day with the basenjis, though the great news this day was that Dyrka was third best bitch with CC!

* 19/7 Köping Int KC show Harley was BOB and later Group-1 in a really strong group! Spike was third best male and Inez was fourth best bitch.


* 19/7 Ypäjä, Finland. Riemu was BOB with his fifth CC.

* 12-13/7 On Saturday we were at the Sighthound Summer Specialty in Västerås. 56 Pharaohs entered. Casper made his debute in style and was BOB baby. Inez was BOB intermediate and Vega was fourth best bitch. Several other nice placings as well. You can see more photos in Sofie's blog.

On Sunday Sofie went to the KC show in Alfta. Inez was BOB with CC and Spike BOS. Harley was also BOB and later Group-2. BOS with CC was Russin.

* 11-12/7 Tvååker Nat KC shows Viggo was the only Enigma present in a huge basenji entry both days. Viggo was fifth best male with CC on Friday and fifth best male again on Saturday.

* 5-6/7 World Dog Show, Stockholm. A wonderful but hectic weekend filled with doggie activities is now over. On Saturday it was the Circuit show for the Basenjis. Over 65 basenjis entered and young Russin went all the way to BOB with CC and later in the afternoon BIS-3! Harley was second in champion class and Pajaz third in intermediate class.


On Sunday it was the world dog show and over 60 Pharaoh Hounds entered. Keanu was fourth in junior class and Spike won the open class. Inez won the junior class and with that also the Junior World Winner title. She then also won the CC! Meia was fourth in junior class and Vilda was fourth in intermediate class. A few more got Excellent in quality but wasn't placed. Our breeder's group was second out of five groups and also the best Swedish group. Harley was only fourth in champion class this time.


On Monday we had a get-together for our puppy people. We had a great time and many thanks to all who came and shared the day with us. More photos from these days can be found in Sofie's blog!

* 6/7 Ustron, Poland. Nat KC show. Nairos was BOB and Group-3!

* 29/6 - 1/7 Vadstena, Swedish Basenji Specialty. With a record entry at a basenji specialty Harley went all the way to BIS! Pajaz won the intermediate class and was later BIS intermediate. Second in the class was litter brother Viggo. Both with champion quality. Russin was placed fifth in her class with prize of honour. Both Harley and Pajaz competed for best movement but the prize went in the end to their 12 year old grandfather Mandela Free Out Of Africa. Faraoland Viking Of Venture had BIS winning progeny group competing with Viggo, Pajaz, Russin and Harley.


On the Monday there was an African Match for basenjis with full Africans in at least fifth generation. Russin went BOS handled by owner Carina. Paris was fourth in the bitch class.


* 29/6 Brno, Czech Rep. Int KC show. Nairos has done it again! He went BOB, Group-1, Best of Day and later BEST IN SHOW at the international dog show in Brno!


* 29/6 Copenhagen Winner show in Denmark. Zäta went BOB with CC and CACIB in strong competition. With this win she is a new Danish champion and she also won the title KBHV-08. In the group she made the shortlist but was not placed.

* 29/6 Finland. In Järvenpää all breed show Keanu went BOB with his third Finnish CC. At the Finnish Pharaoh Hound specialty Riemu went BIS junior!

* 28/6 Borås KC show. We went to Borås to "warm up" before the world show. Vega was BOB and Group-4. Inez was third best bitch with CC and Primus second best male with CC.. In the basenji ring Harley was BOS for the first time this year and Russin third best bitch with CC.

* 21-22/6 Lucerne, Swizerland Kaleb was BOB both days.


* 21/6 Blackpool, UK Michael won the dog CC and BOS.

* 21/6 Gällivare Int. KC show Bruce has had a long rest from dog shows but today he was entered in Gällivare and won BOB with CACIB and finally a Group-5! BOS with CC and CACIB was Meia! Well done both of you!
On Sunday Bruce was entered in Rovaniemi in Finland and he went second best male with R-CACIB.

* 15/6 Raciborz. Nat KC show. Good news about Nairos again as he was BOB at a KC show in Poland.

* 15/6 Lituania Int KC show Keanu was second best male with CC and R-CACIB!

* 15/3 Forssa, Finland, Int KC show Riemu was third best male with R-CC and R-CACIB.

* 14/6 Avesta Int KC show Harley was BOB and Group-3 and Russin BOS with CC and CACIB. Primus went third best male with his first CC and R-CACIB! Spike went forth best male and Solo won the younster class with champion quality. Inez went second best bitch with CC and R-CACIB and Enya was fourth best bitch.


* 10/6 It is now official that we will receive the Swedish Sighthound club's breeder medal for meritorious breeding of Pharaoh Hounds. The medal will be given to us at a cermony at the Summer Specialty in July.

* 8/6 Nitra, Slovakia Int KC show. At the Grand Prix Slovakia Winner Nairos was BOB with CC and CACIB and he was also short listed in the group!

* 7/6 Vänersborg Int KC Show Viggo was the only Enigma present at this show and he did really well! Second best male with CC and R-CACIB!

* 1/6 Tallin, Estonia. We got some nice news on SMS that Keanu was BOB and BOB-junior at a group specialty show in Tallin. Good work Maija and Keanu!

* 31/5 Norrköping Int KC show. We had a great weekend to say the least! Little Inez had to stay at home with a minor injury but mum Vega went second best bitch in a strong Pharaoh entry. Solo got prize of honour and second in junior class.

In Basenjis Harley went BOB with his last CACIB for the international champion title! He then went on to win the group and in Sunday's Best In Show he went BIS-3! Little brother Viggo went second best male with CC and R-CACIB and sister Russin went BOS with CC and her first CACIB! Grandma Lucia went second best bitch and best veteran so it was a family affair in the top!


* 31/5 Piteå Int KC show. Meia was entered and showed really well according to owner Lina. She won the junior class with prize of honour.

* 24-25/5 This weekend we went to Österbybruk Nat KC show on Saturday. Nice results by all dogs entered from us. Harley was BOB and Group-5. Spike was BOS and Solo third best male. Inez was second best bitch with her third CC.

After the group we went north to attend the national KC show in Sundsvall. Harley was BOB but unfortunately not placed in the group this time, on the other hand Inez did some serious winning! Soon to be fifteen months old she won BOB, her fourth CC and a GROUP-1! As if that wasn't enough she went on to a very nice BIS-3 placement!


* 24/5 Helsinki Int KC show, Finland. Riemu was BOB with CC in a strong entry of PH's!

* 18/5 Bytom, Poland. Nairos was BOB and finished the day as Group-3!

* 18/5 Pori, Finland. Group specialty. Riemu was BOS witch another CC!

* 18/5 Joensuu, Finland, Int. KC show. Keanu got BOB with CC (unfortunately a month too young to get CACIB). Maija reported that it is snowing (out door show!) so she probably wouldn't stay for the group...

* 17/5 Hässleholm Nat. KC show. Viggo was third best male in a strong entry.

* 16/5 Bratislava, East European Sighthound Specialty. Kaleb was BOB in an entry of 12 Pharaoh Hounds.

* 11/5 Rauma, Finland, Nat. KC show. Riemu won BOB with CC!

* 10/5 Larv, Nat KC Show. Harley was BOB. Viggo fourth best male and Pajaz was second in the class with champion quality. Faraoland Viking Of Venture had a progeny group with Harley and three Enigma kids and they went BIS-2! Faraoland Lucia Out Of Africa was BOS and BIS-1 veteran - congratulations Helena and Veteran of Veterans 2009 here we come! :)

In Pharaohs Spike got his last CC for the title on his first try after turning two years of age.


* 10/5 Finland. Keanu went BOS with his first CC!


* 1/5 Pajaz went BIS-1 at an open show in Stockholm today.


* 20/4 Jyväskylä, Finland. Riemu was second best male with his first CC and BOB junior!

* 20/4 Västerås Nat. KC show. Harley was BOB and Group-4 and once again young Russin was BOS to him, with her fifth CC! In Pharaohs Spike was third best male from youngster class with CC and Inez was second best bitch from junior class! Holly was third in junior class with prize of honour.


* 19/4 Meia was shown in Harstad in Norway with an excellent critique by Espen Engh. This time she got first in the class prize of honour.

* 13/4 Ostrava, CZ, Nat KC show. Nairos was once again BOB and this time also Group-4!

* 28/3 Katowice, Int KC show. Crufts qualifying. Nairos was BOB with CACIB.


* 29/3 Keanu went best puppy at a match show in Finland!

* 23/3 Stockholm KC Easter show. In Pharaohs young Spike went all the way to BOS with CC and CACIB. Inez was second best bitch from junior class and Saga was fourth best bitch. In Basenjis Harley went BOB and finally group 4. BOS was Russin from junior class with her fourth CC! They are now top basenji male and female so far in 2008!


* 21/3 Sydney Royal, Australia. Isak was BOB in a record entry for this prestigious show. Runner up to BOB was Isak's kennel mate Isis. Congratulations to owner and handler Renee Davies.

* We got the great news that Nairos is TOP PHARAO HOUND in the Czech Republic. He is also top hound for all breeds in the breed club including Pharaohs, Ibizans, Cirnechi and Podengo Portogues. Congratulations to Radana and Alexandra.

* 15-16/3 Lithuania Winner show. Keanu was second in junior class on Saturday and third on Sunday graded Excellent both days.

* 15/3 Tampere KC show, Finland. Riemu was fourth best male with R-CC.

* 15/3 Malmö International. Viggo was second best male with CC, as always owner handled by Lotta.


* Kaleb has been to three shows these past weekends. On 23 and 24 of February he attended the double CACIB show in Fribourg and he was BOB both days. On the Sunday he also got a Group-2!
On Saturday March 1st he attended the international show in Montichiari, Italy and he went BOB with his last CC to complete his Italian champion title!

* 1/3 Skogås, Sighthound Club show. Inez was third best bitch (seven bitches present) and BOB junior. Later she also won BIS-1 junior! Saga was second best bitch and Dyrka got first in quality. Unfortunately I managed to erase some beautiful photos from the day...

* Keuruu, Finland, Group-5 show. Riemu was second best male with Reserv-CC.

* 26/1 Turku International Winter show, Finland. Harley went second best male with CC and R-Cacib, gaining his Finnish champion title. He is now a Nordic champion.

In Pharaohs there were four Enigma's entered. Riemu went third in junior class with excellent and Kendra got Very good in junior class, both attending their first offical show. Glimma, who has not been shown in over one year, got excellent in champion class och finally Maya went first with excellent in veteran class and BOB veteran! She is ten years old and Ammi had decided this would be her last show. Enigma was also BOB breeders group!


* 26/1 Milan, Italy, International show. Kaleb was BOB.

* 26/1 Trencin, Czech Rep. International show. Nairos was BOB once again!

* 11/1 Olomuoc, Czech Rep. National Winner show 2008. Nairos went BOB and can now add yet another National Winner title to his name.

* 4-6/1 MyDOG 2008, Gothenburg. 2 x International KC Shows and Swedish Winner Show-08. The first day young Russin made us very proud winning BOB from junior class and later also a Group-3! This day Inez also went BOS with her first CC.


The second day was the Swedish Winner Show with over 5500 dogs entered. Inez again went BOS with CC and the title SV-08! In basenjis Viggo won the junior class for males with prize of honour. Russin also won the junior class and finished as second best bitch. Harley, who turned two years old a week ago, went BOB with the title SV-08, CACIB and his last Swedish CC which gave him the championtitle! In the group he went all the way to a Group-1. In Best In Show Harley finished as BIS-4 and also won the prize for best placed Swedish bred dog of all breeds.


* 2007 in a short summary. Another year has passed and yet again many of our puppy buyers have succeded with their dogs in oh so many ways. We thank you all for giving your dogs the best care possible. We are equally proud of all Enigmas even if they are not mentioned below.

Morgan and Zäta have both passed the aptitude test in field tracking. Both had maximum points and Zäta also managed a prize of honour. Hopefully in 2008 they will be able to do the open class field trials with good results for the championtitle! Zäta has been busy this year as she is also top winning Lure coursing Pharaoh Hound! Her big sis Nahla is number three top LC Pharaoh, certainly not bad either!

In Poland Nairos won BEST IN SHOW at a national KC show. In Italy young Kaleb won a BIS-3 at a KC show and earlier in the year he was BOB junior at the European Winner show in Croatia with the title JEUW-07. Slaine is among the top winning dogs in all of Ireland and early in 2007 Michael finished his UK title. Several dogs has also won CC's and finished conformation champion titles, like Enya who is now a champion in three countries and Bruce who got his Norwegian title winning a BOB at the same time. Inez was BIS puppy at the Specialty in Mariefred, BIS baby at the Sighthound Club show in Svenstavik as well as BIS-1 at Växjö Int, her only KC show in puppy class. Litter sister Holly was BIS-1 at the Sighthound Club show in Enköping. Vega is top winning bitch 2007 and Enya is fourth.

Harley is top winning basenji in Sweden 2007! He is really following in his parents pawprint as dad Viking was top basenji in 2005 an mum Twinkle was top basenji in 2006. Harley was also BOB at both the Swedish Winner show and the Norwegian Winner show this year as well as BIS at the specialty in Norway. Viggo is also following in half brother Harley's pawprints as top winning basenji puppy in 2007. He also won his first CC at his first show in official classes! Sister Russin was fourth top winning puppy and in three shows as an adult she managed to win two CC's, two new winner titles and making the number seven spot as top basenji bitch! Viggo and Russin both won BIS-1 puppy at KC shows during the summer, Russin did it twice!
